1910-1911 Turkey Red T3 is a series of cabinet sized cards (measuring 5-3/4” x 8”) produced by Turkey Red Tobacco and available via exhange from coupons in several of their brands. The set is arguably one of the most beautiful and popular vintage sets.
The cards were released throughout 1910 and 1911 thus the multi-year designation. The set was released in two series. 1-75 and 76-125. There are 100 baseball cards in the set, the boxer cards (numbered 51-76) are usually referred to as a different set by collectors. Although none of the cards were printed in higher scarcity than others, less well known players are typically more difficult to find. There are variations on card fronts, player names, captions, etc. but none seem to be more valuable to collectors than others.
The set was later reprinted on standard sized cards by an unknown manufacturer. Topps also adopted the brand as one of its retro themed sets.
Different Backs[]
There are five different back designs that can be found in vary levels of scarcity. The three checklist backs are considered to be equal. The three checklist backs refer to Series 1 - a back with a checklist 1-75, a back with a checklist 1-76, and a checklist back with no ad on bottom. The second series has a checklist back and an advertisement back.
