2007 Donruss Elite Extra Edition is a baseball card set produced and distributed by Donruss. This was the first baseball card set that Donruss produced after losing its MLB license in 2005. Donruss had a license with the NCAA to produce cards for college athletics and thus focused on draft prospects for the set. Donruss was successful in securing exclusive access to autographs from several of the draft's top picks from the year. This made the set highly sought after by prospectors and collectors alike. Overall the set sold extremely well and was one the most popular products of 2007.
Distribution[]
The set was distributed in pack form only at hobby outlets nationwide. The release date was Dec 21, 2007. Boxes were sold with 20 packs per box and 5 cards per pack. Normal boxes had 4 hits (autographs or memorabilia cards) while 1-2 boxes per case were hot boxes that could hold 8 or more hits!
