2009 Topps Ticket to Stardom is a baseball card set produced and distributed by Topps. It was only issued in a single year, although the ideas and concepts in the set had some promise. The set had several elements in common with the Fleer Authentix sets from earlier in the decade. The biggest draw of the set were the embedded game tickets with the game used and autographed insert sets.

Distribution[]

Base Set[]

The 225 card base set is made up of current players and rookies for all major league teams. Cards 201-225 were serial numbered to 199 copies each. The card backs have only 2008 and career statistics and include a short narrative of one notable game by each player.

Parallel Sets[]

All 225 cards in the base set (including short prints) were paralleled by five different sets. Perforated (like the edges of a ticket) were the most common, inserted at a rate of 1 per pack and were not serial numbered. Blue (SN to 99), Gold (SN to 50), and Red (SN 1/1) parallel sets were also inserted with increasing scarcity (1:10 all packs, 1:20 all packs, and 1:960 hobby only respectively). The 4 printing plates were also inserted into packs at a rate of 1:240 hobby packs.
