For the fifth consecutive year, Topps released an Opening Day set. The 2014 Topps Opening Day set is largely unchanged from the previous release. The target audience is still kids and low end collectors. The big addition for 2014 was a game used Relics set where previous sets had only included a few autographs.
Distribution[]
The cards were distributed at both retail outlets and hobby shops. There is virtually no difference between hobby and retail packs: both had 7 cards per pack and the same insertion odds for all sets. There were also special 25-card jumbo packs sold at some retail outlets.

This 5-card set partially parallels the Mascots set and features the autographs of some of the mascots. Besides the printing plate parallels, these are the most rare cards in the set.
Between Innings[]
This 10-card set features the entertainment, mascot antics and interactions with the fans at various stadium between innings of major league baseball games. About half the set is dedicated to the running races around the MLB, like the Sausage Race Race in Milwaukee.
