Derrek Lee is a former major league baseball player. Lee was drafted in the first round of 1993 MLB draft by the San Diego Padres, making his major debut with them in 1997. In 1998, Lee was traded to the Florida Marlins, where he won a World Series title in 2003. He was traded to the Cubs the following year and brokeout as a superstar, winning a batting title in 2005, making multiple All-Star teams, winning multiple Gold Gloves, and effectively replaced slugger Sammy Sosa as the Cubs' best hitter. His career ended in 2011 after being injured on a hit-by-pitch with the Pirates.

For several years, Lee enjoyed quite a bit of popularity in the hobby (from 2005 to 2010), but ultimately faded from the hobby spotlight into the Hall of Very Good players.
