Josh Beckett is a former major league baseball player. A 3-time All-Star, Beckett was the ace of the Marlins in the early 2000's, winning the 2003 World Series MVP award before being traded to the Red Sox in 2006. With the Red Sox, Beckett had his best season in 2007, winning 20 games and finishing 2nd in the AL Cy Young Voting, as well as winning the ALCS MVP award. After being traded to the Dodgers in 2012, he threw a no-hitter but his career was derailed by a hip injury, eventually retiring in Oct 2014 at the age of 34.

In the Hobby, Josh Beckett's rookie cards were a very hot commodity in 1999 and 2000 when he was one of the top prospects in baseball. Interest in his cards waned as his career trajectory became less Tom Seaver and more Mike Scott or Mike Boddicker, a solid addition to a starting staff, but not Hall of Fame bound. Outside of a few Josh Beckett player collectors, very few of his cards carry much premium today.
