Ryan Zimmerman is a current major league baseball player. Zimmerman was the first draft pick ever the Washington Nationals after moving from Montreal in the first round of the 2005 MLB Draft. He was one of the top talents in college baseball, being named an All-American. Zimmerman sped through A and AA levels before making his major league debut just a few months later in September 2005. In 2006, he became the regular starting third baseman for the Nationals.

Zimmerman quickly became a star, known for his clutch hitting and excellent defense. Over his career he won a Gold Glove, 2 Silver Sluggers, and made 2 All-Star despite playing at one of the most loaded positions - third base in the National League (with the likes of David Wright, Scott Rolen, and Chipper Jones also manning the position over his career). Zimmmerman has hit 11 walk off home runs in his career, tied for eighth all-time.

In 2013 Zimmerman suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder. He still had a strong season but moved to first base in 2014 where he was selected to another All-Star team. Zimmerman will go down as one of the greatest Nationals players ever, leading the team in career home runs and RBI.

In 2019, Zimmerman hit the first home run in the World Series in the history of the franchise. The Nationals would win the World Series in 7 games over the Houston Astros.

In the hobby, Zimmerman does not demand much attention nationally, however he is highly collected among Nationals fans.
