Sweet Spot Baseball was a series of baseball card sets from Upper Deck that were centered around the autograph insert set - star baseball players signatures on a faux baseball on the "sweet spot" between the seams. The simple beauty of these sets generated a loyal following but were met with some technical issues, there were some years that saw the ink from the autographs fade into the leather surface over time, other years had too many redemptions. But overall the set was a solid product from Upper Deck from 2001 until 2009 when they lost their MLB license.

After a couple seasons of success, Upper Deck added the Sweet Spot Classic product line as well, focusing on retired stars, but rather a central theme of cut signatures like SP Legendary Cuts the focus was on-card autographs on the Sweet Spot.
